8-McDo is on my speed dial.

Ahh Mickey D's. My favorite junk food, comfort food, picker upper, you name it.
Here is one solid reason why I do not lose weight. I love it!

Mulan Jr at OnStage at Greenbelt

As promised, here are the photos from our reward date to see Mulan Jr at OnStage at Greenbelt. There was Bea and me and my sister and her daughter.

Bea and I went there early. Our seats were "free seating" ones and I didn't want to end up sitting somewhere in the nose bleed area. So we got there, we got good seats and we had a great time, adults and kids alike. :)

Bea doing some early picture-taking.

Bea and Raine inside the theater.

After the show, the cast were outside giving autographs.

Felix Rivera as Captain Shang

Cris Villonco as Mulan

Shan Yu with bea and Raine

Shan Yu and Bea...Grrr!

And of course, Shan Yu and me...double grrr!!!

Worth mentioning is Raffy, the guy who played Shan Yu, stayed behind and signed autographs and took pictures with the kids (and adults, hehehe) way after the other actors have gone back inside. I think that's just very nice of him. He was quite a character. He'd always Grrr!!! for the pictures.

Disney’s Mulan Jr. runs at Greenbelt’s Onstage theater until December 18.

Get your tickets from Ticketworld by calling 891 999 or from Repertory at 887 0710.

11 September 2008

I was listening to my morning show this morning (of course) and Mo (the DJ) mentioned a website that is dedicated to the show. They don't know who the author is but said to check it out. "It's even better than our own site", Mo said. So the disciple that I am of Mo Twister, I go ahead and view the site.

I got to the site and to my surprise, the transcript of this mornings show is already there! Galing! I went through the site and it was great! It had transcripts of a lot of Good Times episodes with pictures to boot! **I just noticed all the exclamation points in this paragraph. Excited much? :)

Anyway, if you're a fan of the show or is wondering what the h_ll I'm talking about... check it out at http://goodtimeswithmo.wordpress.com/

The stuff in there is amazingly accurate and the author is very witty. Btw, thank for the commentary Mr Author. You do the lord's work. :)

Muscle Men Have Birthdays Too

Friday Night we went to Gerry's Grill near Park Square to celebrate the long overdue birthday of my favorite gym instructor, Vince. We've been planning this for months (Vince's birthday was July pa) and we finally got to do it. When I say we I mean Don, Benjie, Vince and me. Hirap kasi we all have different schedules and we have to do it on a payday, of course. We brought along another traniner, Mel, just for the heck of it. Kidding! I didn't want to be the only female perspective there.

Here We Go...

Just a note, we were 13th on the list that night but becuase of our powers of persuasion (and distraction) we got a seat right away. Woohoo!

Texting Sil... honey, I'll be late.

Texting Diane...honey, I'll be late.

Texting Jena...honey, make sure you buy beer so I can have some when I get home late.

Mel the Tomador. Joke lang Mel... :)

Kilawin. Good but could be better.

Spicy Garlic Chicken. New favorite.

Pork sisig...coronary in the making.

Chicken fingers... didn't know they had ones this fat.

Grilled Dori. Poor Dori. Tasted great though. So yummy...

Don and Marie. We don't sing though... well he doesn't. :)

Marie and Benjie

Mel, Me and Vince

Ever seen a Zombie look so purty?

How many fingers?

Tipsy much?
The damage...

Marie's waistline according to the Macho Men. I wonder why they're laughing...

It's not funny at all.

The real damage..

Still standing...

Happy Birthday Vince!

Addicted To Mohan

I can’t stop listening to this guy on the radio.

The first time I heard him on the radio was a year and a half ago. I said to myself, “I can’t believe this guy is on the radio. He’s rude and crude and he (kinda) swears on air!” It’s unheard of. He hangs up on callers and shouts and (kinda) swears at his counterparts. The following morning, I tuned in again and the morning after that and the morning after that… I was hooked. I still am. He’s funny and smart and he’s very confident about his opinions. They may not always be the most popular ones and I don’t always agree with it but I admire his gusto. He is Mo Twister and the program is Good Times with Mo. It’s on Magic 89.9 Mondays to Thursdays from 6 – 9am. With him are Mojo Jojo and Grace Lee. They have a good mix and they complement each other. It sucks when one of them is not there. It’s different. The show is very edgy and takes on controversial topics never before heard on air. I love it!

I know a lot of you out there know who and what I’m talking about. My only comfort is in knowing I’m you exist.

THE LOVE I HAVE FOR YOU IS TRUE

For Bea
(A villanelle)

My dear, the love I have for you is true
As the night will die down for the day
I’ll give my life too willingly for you

You might think I don’t do enough for you
Please hear my words and what I have to say
My dear, the love I have for you is true

Although our times together are so few
Priceless they are to me in every way
I’ll give my life too willingly for you

And when you come to age my pray’r for you
The Lord to guide and keep you night and day
My dear, the love I have for you is true

My shortcomings to you I can’t undo
But God is there to guide your and my way
I’ll give my life too willingly for you

My prayer is that I do right by you
I’ll treasure you forever and a day
My dear, the love I have for you is true
I’ll give my life too willingly for you

Preparatory Class Field Trip

See this picture? This is me keeping my 5 year old entertained within the first 15 minutes of this trip. 25 adults and 25 kids under the age of 7... I think the adults were very out-numbered.

I packed enough food, clothes and entertainment stuff for a two-day trip. I felt I over did it but when we got in the bus and I saw the stuff the other moms brought, I felt I didn't prepare enough. Ok lang, I thought, anything we need that I didn't bring, we can get on the way.

We were to go to three places-the Bio Research Center, the SM North 3D Theater and the La Mesa Eco Park. This is going to be a very long day.

As expected, we arrived late for the first stop, there was a long line going in and there was a lot of children running around the place. I thought we would be going to a place that's different from this one but the place as not a total disappointment though. I thought there'd only be fish and aquatic stuff and some house pets like hamsters and mice but there was a lot more. There was a bee sanctuary, a butterfly garden, a real garden, and a lot of different birds and animals. Here in this picture, Bea is buggin' coz there's a big blue peacock behind her.

Here Bea is pretending to be one of the broccoli plants. So cute. I think the kids really enjoyed coming here. Well, it was our first stop and they're energy level is still up. As we were leaving, there were people handing out goldfish for each kid to take home for free. Now this to me is genius. You give the kid a fish, and we know that some of them are not gonna have fish tanks at home yeah? So here we are, kids having their own little Nemo's, they're in love with this fish from the get-go, with nowhere to put them and nothing to feed them. So what does mommy do? She buys a fish tank and some fish food. Genius. The P35 fish we got for free but the tank and the food set me back P300. It's alright. Bea loved the fish and they even gave me my own goldfish too. Bea named them Dory and Dorky. Dory died a couple of days later. Dorky is hanging in there. What do you expect, I do not know the first thing about taking care of fish.

Next stop was the 3D Theater in SM North. This experience was the total opposite of what I'd expected. I expected the place to be a little SM Northy. You know, lotsa people, crowded, lotsa people. When we got there I was stunned. It was not the SM North that I remembered. The place was clean and fresh and the shops were better than the ones in Megamall. Now for the movie part, I thought we'd be watching some Disney movie they made into 3D. Wrong again. They showed some Safari bit with a girl driving a car and showing us the animals in Africa. I coulda just stayed home and watched it on The Animal Planet! The only good thing I can say about this stop is that it gave me a chance to rest up. I actually slept through it. Bea took a nap to, also her teacher and at least one other mom (she told me :D) Don't get me wrong, the theater was good, roomy and clean. It's just what they showed was crap.

We then set on for the La Mesa Dam Eco Park. Long Ride. I almost ran out of stuff to entertain my kid with. Good thing her friend Regina brought her DS. Bea played with it and shared with another girl classmate who didn't know the first thing about sharing.

We arrived at the park and started on the tour right away. It was a good place to go and our tour guide was very knowlegdable about the stuff she was touring us in. She added humor to the takling parts too so it wasn't boring at all.

In this photo Bea is holding a cultured worm. This is the dirtiest thing I ever let Bea hold. I know, I'm a little neurotic. She was really excited to hold it too. Volunteered right away to do it.

The tour went on and on. Except for the heat and all that climbing, it was fairly enjoyable. The trees were beautiful and the air is very fresh. It made you want to breath more because it's so fresh. Bea had a really good time here. She never gets to do things like this, not since she moved in with me. All we do now is go to the mall, go shopping, go see a movie. All things indoors. This was good for both f us.

For the most part, this trip was enjoyable. Enjoyable more than educational. Eventhough it's already Monday and I still feel tired from it, I'm glad we went. For Bea more than me. Here are a few more pictures...

This is me feeling the heat and the climb.

Behind me is the faux rice terraces.

This is the 107 step stair we climbed. Bea was a little tired after the climb don't you think?

Me and Bea waiting for the boat ride that wasn't meant to be. We never had the chance to get on it beacause we had to go if we wanted to avoid the traffic.

Mulan Jr at the Greenbelt Theater

My daughter had her first quarterly exams a week and a half ago. We studied furiously for two weeks as preparation. Furiously because a lot of times I bacame furious at her or she became furious at me! My daughter loves to study her lessons but I must have pushed so many buttons (or some wrong ones maybe) that we almost ended up in tears! My daughter is in Prep. Am I a bad mother??? Anyway, she did very well. And as a reward for her hard work, I decided to take her to the Repertory Philippines production of Mulan Jr. They are showing it at the Greenbelt Theater from August to December. As this is her first time to see a stage play, she is very excited. I invited my niece, Raine to join us. The more, the merrier. This afternoon I will go get our tickets. I must say I am very excited too.
